The Comfort Of Leather Jackets

Well the time black leather motorcycle jacketsfinally arrived  for me I got permission from my doctor to take a short ride on my motorcycle. Its been 10 m0nths now and with all the good weather and warm days the itch has been overwhelming. The flood run ride was this weekend so bikes were everywhere. As always there were reports of accidents and one fatality with high wind assumed to be a factor in the crash.

It wasn’t the thrill I was expecting as my bike had been sitting since last June and had to be serviced. Well I began that task and I encountered a small problem I broke a valve stem off and can’t find a replacement. I finally found a shop open on Saturday and was able to fix the problem and install a new tire put it back on the bike and  now I’m ready to ride.

I put on my Black Leather Motorcycle Jacket my leather boots my helmet and now I’m ready to ride. What a wonderful feeling! I remembered real fast why I have such a passion for riding motorcycle. My riding gear gives me a feeling of security but I also am aware of the environment I am in and adjust my riding habits accordingly. Didn’t make the flood run but was able to take a short ride and made all things ok. Ride safe and enjoy!!!

Why Wear A Leather Jacket

Well spleather biker jacketsring is here the April showers have finally arrived with much needed rain and thunder and lightning to shake the ground up and get rid of the frost. The heavy rains also wash the sand off the roads making them a little safer to ride.

With spring here one of the first big local rides will take place this weekend. It’s called the flood run and people descend along the mighty Mississippi river for a weekend of fun. There are shops set up in various villages and towns along the river displaying there Black Leather Motorcycle Jackets, vests, hats, gloves, chaps, skull caps and just about anything an avid motorcycle rider might need for the upcoming season. Its a fun ride and a fun day for all involved kind of the kick off of the riding season in these parts you might say.

Leather motorcycle jackets are a crucial part of riding gear as they offer protection from many elements such as rain, sand, sun, wind and the biggest of all that infamous road rash. Road rash is the biggest reason I personally wear my leather jacket. Its unpleasant and if you’ve ever laid a bike down you appreciate all the protection you can get. So wear your leather and ride safe and enjoy the riding season!

jacketMotorcycles are inherently more dangerous than an automobile, and as such, extra precautions are necessary to ensure safety when you hop on your bike. Firstly, it is imperative that you have an in-depth understanding of the various laws and regulations associated with riding a motorcycle. Not only do you need understand these laws, but it is also essential that you follow them at all times.

In addition to being alert and responsible on the bike, donning the appropriate motorcycle garb is critical. While a helmet is obviously the most important piece of protective equipment, a leather jacket creates an effective shield for your torso. Well-fitting men’s leather motorcycle jackets not only protect against flying debris but also guard against road rash in the unfortunate event of a spill.

Protecting Your Investment

leather motorcycle jacketsLeather motorcycle jackets require a considerable initial investment, but if they properly taken care of, leather jackets can last for decades. As you are probably aware, leather requires special care and attention. While this may seem like a hassle, it is worth it to keep your jacket looking great and prolong its life.

The type of leather your product is made of will determine the proper care techniques. The three most common types are: top grained, aniline and semi-aniline. Virtually all jackets, and other goods for that matter, are made from top grain leather, which is convenient, because it also happens to be the easiest to maintain.

Pros and Cons of Helmets

As with all safety equipment there are always gonna be those who are for it and those against it. From my own experiences while riding motorcycles I value the safety and protection a motorcycle helmet can provide. In my 1980 motorcycle crash if it weren’t for my helmet I’m sure I would have had severe head injuries looking at the damage done to the helmet in the crash.

I hear the comments all the time that they’re to hot or they don’t look cool or they’re to heavy. In my opinion the discomfort far outweighs the alternatives in the case of an accident. Yes they do take away from the feelings of freedom on a bike but consider the alternatives. Yes there are stories of how if it wern’t for the helmet he or she wouldn’t have had this or that but what are the instances of good in relation to the bad. Kind of similar to the Mens Leather Motorcycle Jacketsmens leather motorcycle jackets.   I hear alot of the same comments about wearing them also but when a person takes into consideration all the safety that our gear provides it’s well worth the discomfort it sometimes gives. Remember road rash hurts!!!!!!!!!!

Benefits of Vented Leather Jackets

Since most of our riding takes place during the warmer months of the year our  jackets aren’t just for protection from an accident. They offer us protection from the sun, wind, rain and also dehydration. this is hampered if the jacket isn’t vented to allow air flow to keep us cool. As we all know we have a tendency not to wear our jackets if it gets to hot however if our jacket is well vented it is a pleasure to wear.

My first long trip across the plains in the Dakotas and Nebraska was a real eye opener. Not one to ask allot of questions left home dressed in a t shirt and blue jeans. Not prepared for what I would experience in the next couple of days on the road. Its amazing how dehydrated a person can get while riding as you’re unaware of how much body fluid is lost due to the heat and wind. Sun and wind burn are also a concern. A good high quality vented Men’s Leather Motorcycle Jacketvented leather jacket helps with all of these confrontations. Just a word to the wise if you’re going on a long motorcycle trip make sure you talk to a seasoned rider and ask for advice on the does and don’ts of long days on the road. Make the experience one that is unforgettable.

Saddle Up and Ride in Any Season

ChainedGSWhile deep snow and glare ice will obviously render your bike useless during the winter months, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy an offseason ride when conditions allow. It goes without saying that you’ll need to bundle up during the cold months when the wind pierces through average, everyday riding apparel. Everyone knows that leather motorcycle jackets are essential, but gloves are a must too, as your grip can suffer slightly in the cold. Frostbitten fingers just aren’t an option when you’re trying to concentrate on the road.

But the essentials of cold-weather riding are not limited to winter motorcycle riding apparel alone. It’s never smart to ride in a snowstorm, but if the wind begins to swirl and snow blows over the road, you can’t risk being obscured from other drivers’ view. High-powered headlights and tail lights are essential in any season, but they are especially useful when winter rolls around.

The Cool Factor

black leather jacketIt’s true enough that a motorcycle jacket is a practical garment that’s been utilized by bikers for years. But the lion’s share of such a jacket’s appeal has more to do with fashion sense and attitude. Leather jackets exude a brashness and cool confidence. Whether adorning the Hell’s Angels or a weekend warrior, these jackets send a message to The Man: I refuse to play by your rules.

Mens motorcycle jackets have made many notable appearances in popular culture, and a few have even attained iconic status. James Dean sports a black leather jacket in Rebel without a Cause, and who could forget Henry Winkler’s memorable turn as The Fonz on Happy Days? One begins to wonder: Can leather jackets make anyone look cool? There’s only one way to find out.
